The bravest boy

The last couple of years has been challenging for Curtis. But I think one of the hardest things he's done is give up his dog Koda.  He realized that he didn't have the time or energy to keep up with such a high energy dog. So he put his own needs for a companion aside and found Koda a home where he could get more attention and have more space to run free. It was a selfless act and I am really proud of Curtis for doing the right thing instead of doing the easy thing.

Who gets the hair?

First of all, I don't "get" the hair.  Really? Boys! Get a hair cut!!!

Second, Why do the boys "get" the great hair? It's thick and curly and unbelievably healthy. Us poor girls in the family weren't even half as lucky.  It's just not right.  And what's with boys getting long, lucious eye lashes?

Curtis has been a trooper. He has continued working in Oregon in spite of less than ideal circumstances.  He has been living in a hotel the whole time, eating fast food and watching TV-

 which he really does not like.

He also has been door to door selling, which has convinced him he'll never be a missionary.  It's just not his deal.  So here he is at work.  His last day is Tuesday and then he'll begin his journey home with Anna and Nick.  We'll see him sometime next week.  He is ready to jump back into school and make sure that when he is all grown up, he has more occupational options!

  I can't wait to see him!  I miss the little monkey!

We have relatives in Salem...

Curtis has moved to Salem, Oregon to pursue professional opportunities.  I'll keep you posted...

Returing to the nest-

The house is filling up again!

Abbie will be moving home after another great year

at Utah State, and Curtis has decided that living at

home isn't quite so bad after all.  So he is back and

with him comes his faithful side kick...Koda.  

I think secretly Jake is thrilled.  I'm not so sure

he was loving being an only child.

Ready for launch-

Curt is ready to take on the world.  I almost can't stand it.  I'm trying to re-cap the almost 20 years we have had together.  Have I taught him all the skills he needs to survive in the jungle out there?  I am seriosly doubting my mommy skills.  But for the life of me, I can't think of any more advice to give.  I just want him to be healthy, and happy and safe.  That's it.  However he gets there, that's his journey and his alone.  I love my Curtis with all my heart and will miss him being around all the time. I am completly confident that he will experience lots of success in life!

Broken bones
Lots of scapes and bruises
Windows that get turned into doors
Fire and gas and combustion

Crying girls
Tardies & Sluffs
Illegal Fireworks
Speeding tickets
Lots of noise
Too much silence
TP in trees
Eggs on house
Long hair/green hair
Messy rooms and endless piles of wet towels
Going through cases of cold cereal
Empty pop cans all over the house
Juice cartons used as glasses
Ruined furniture and walls
Tons and tons of hugs and kisses!

I adore my three sons!  I don't know what I'd do without them!

together in spite of very cold temperatures and snow flurries.

My proud for the day...

He's in! And I couldn't be prouder! Curtis got his admittence letter today from Salt Lake Community College.  He went down, took the placement test, met with a counselor and applied.  I think this is a great "next step" in his life and hope he loves going back to school!

 Time to go shopping for a new backpack!

My Wild Stallion

Even with an earache, he still stays in touch!

He is crazy funny.

He has to learn everything the hard (and expensive) way.

He always has a girlfriend.

He is an exremley loyal and dedicated employee.

He loves his mom's "wip". (BMW)

He enjoys spending time with his dad.

It's funny when he calls me "Trace" - and he always does.

He takes care of his very obnoxious dog, Koda.

He has the best hair ever.

You always know what he's thinking! (didn't come w/a filter)

He loves dressing up Will and Halle.

He loves animated movies.

He is a really, really good friend.

He has cheated death (and the law) on more than one occasion. 

Curtis has the biggest heart of anyone I know!
