A is for AlphaGraphics

Times are rough-  no one knows that better than us!  That is why I really must say that I am so thankful for my random job.  Who knew that I would end up in the franchise development business.  My job is to contact independent printing businesses and tell them about the advantages of belong to an industry leading franchise.  I could list the top 10 resons why independents are choosing to convert to AlphaGraphics but unless you're an independent printer... which I know you are not, you don't care.  Anyways- if anyone needs to improve their business communications, visit http://www.alphagraphics.com/  to learn ways that you can reach your audience and grow your business. And in the meantime, I'll be building the network one AlphaGraphics digital business center at a time!

My Wild Stallion

Even with an earache, he still stays in touch!

He is crazy funny.
He has to learn everything the hard (and expensive) way.
He always has a girlfriend.
He is an exremley loyal and dedicated employee.
He loves his mom's "wip". (BMW)
He enjoys spending time with his dad.
It's funny when he calls me "Trace" - and he always does.
He takes care of his very obnoxious dog, Koda.
He has the best hair ever.
You always know what he's thinking! (didn't come w/a filter)
He loves dressing up Will and Halle.
He loves animated movies.
He is a really, really good friend.
He has cheated death (and the law) on more than one occasion.
Curtis has the biggest heart of anyone I know!

The Dr. is in!

My happy begins at 7:45 a.m. everyday- at the gas station.
It takes 44 ounces of  icy, icy, icy cold
Diet Dr Pepper to help me meet the challenges of my day.
I love this stuff so much!

Here's my conflict:  I know how bad this coping mechanism is for my body so EVERY SINGLE NIGHT  as I am falling asleep, I quit.  Boom. Done. Then... by 7:45 a.m. I find myself hitting the spout again.  Truly, if I were a smoker, I'd be one of those people that smokes through the hole in their throat.  It's sick and wrong!
None-the-less, the Dr. has gotten me through a lot of rough times!

What's so great about Jake?

 1.  He knows every song, of every artist, from every era.
2.  He has a hillarious sense of humor.
3.  He is the epitomy of flexible and is ridiculously easy going.
4.  He doesn't demand a lot of attention, but he'll take any he can get.
5.  He doesn't let the title "Golden One" go to his head.
6.   He never complains about anything.
7.  He has the best ever sign on his bedroom door.

8.  He is a great student, skier and guitar player.
9.  He is loyal and somewhat obedient. (we have different ideas of clean)
10.  He is an awesome uncle, brother, and son.

Every family should have a Jacob!

Nana date night

In January I implimented "Nana Date Night". The theory is that every Saturday night, Taylor & Kenzie and Dustin  & Whitney go out and leave the babies with Nathan and I.  We are off to a slow start, but hopefully these parents will soon realize how selfish they are being and start letting me have my fair share of the babies-
(Seriously you guys!  Get a life!)

"A mother is only as happy as her most unhappy child"

I'm married to a rock star!

Nathan and Jake brought the house down with their debut perfomance of "Last Kiss"! They played a duet with their teacher, Parker, on vocals.  It was awesome!  I am such a proud mommy & wife.

Sleep tight, the Sandman is coming...

When I first became a mother, I sang to my babies. But it didn't take long before they figured out that if they placed their little hands over my mouth, that horrible noise would stop. Thus, my lullaby days were numbered with each child and I had to creatively find another bedtime ritual. So each night when I would tuck my children in, I would ask them- "What was your happy today?"

Then, in an attempt to prolong bedtime and to capture just a bit more undivided attention, they would insist on sharing their sads, their sillys, and finally, their mads. Taylor's mad would always start with- "When Whitney..." Whitney's mad would begin "When Abbie..." and Abbie's would of course begin with "When Curtis..." (Poor Curtis!)

Curtis never really had a mad. Or a sad. He would just stand on his head or hang off the side of the bed or jump or flip until he fell deeply asleep. I remember one night I tried to snuggle with Curtis and he rejected me and said "Mean moms can't snuggle me up. I want Ne Ne!" (Whitney)
By the time Jake came around, I think I was done tucking in. At that point "Whitney mommy" would lay down with Jacob and teach him the fine art of "silking" on his blanket. They both loved the same kind of blanket- the ones with the silk around the edge. She would carefully fold the corners into tight little triangles and tickle his ears, nose and mouth, and in between his fingers. Eleven years his senior, she had it all figured out and would patiently tickle him to sleep.

Why the trip back to memory lane? Because I am inspired by all the amazing bloggers in my life and I want to become one of them! But overwhelmed by where to begin and what is worth blogging about kept me from jumping in until one day I was thinking about these sweet memories and decided that I could launch on an old, old family tradition...

"What was my happy today?"
